When you’re ready to install Bearfoot flooring, we want to make the process as smooth and straightforward as possible for you. Let’s walk through what you can expect during your flooring installation.
Next, we carefully inspect the subfloor. This is important because we want to make sure the moisture levels are below 12% for wood floors and that the surface is even. If you’re using hardwood or engineered wood, we’ll need to adjust the materials in your space for at least 48 hours before installation. This helps avoid any unwanted expansion or contraction later on.
If your flooring requires underlayment, we’ll lay that down first. We’ll start laying the planks from one corner of the room and work our way across. By using spears to maintain the necessary expansion gap (about ¼ inch) along the walls.
We’ll measure and cut planks to fit around corners or other obstacles. After all the planks are in place, we’ll remove the spacers and trim to cover the expansion gap. Also, we’ll clean up any adhesive making sure that all the transitions between different flooring types are smooth and tidy.
